The Michigan City Parks & Recreation Department staffs Red Cross certified lifeguards in a designated area at the Washington Park lakefront from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Guarded hours are 10:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday; and 10:00AM to 6:00PM Saturday and Sunday.

PLEASE RESPECT LAKE MICHIGAN AND EXERCISE SOUND COMMON SENSE. PLEASE OBEY ALL BEACH RULES! Be sure to call ahead (219-873-1406 x390), or check in at the front gate to verify if the guarded area is open or closed.
