The Michigan City Wastewater Treatment Facility was constructed in 1935. Since then, it has undergone five major construction modifications. The plant is designed to produce a treated wastewater quality that is well within the limits of pollutants as established by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).
