Central Services

The Central Services Division is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all City owned property. This includes public buildings, facilities, streets, alleys, greenspaces, parking lots, pavement, plantings, sidewalks, and wooded areas. The department is also responsible for all signage for traffic control and safety.

Environmental Violations

Environmental violations are not only unsightly, but they can be serious health and safety hazards. It is against City Ordinance for properties to contain:

  • Uncollected trash, garbage, litter, or debris
  • Demolition remains
  • Appliances or furniture in the yard
  • Auto parts and scrap metal
  • Grass over 6 inches tall
  • Fallen trees, stumps, dead trees, and cut brush

Parking Permits for Physically Disabled Persons

Sec. 86-171. - Department of central services.

The department of central services is hereby authorized and empowered to grant to physically disabled persons the exclusive use of a parking space adjacent to or directly across the street from their residence, subject to such rules and regulations as the department of central services may prescribe, in areas where such parking is otherwise permitted and not restricted in the manner provided herein.
