PLEASE NOTE: The Michigan City Housing Authority’s (MCHA) Home Ownership, MCHDI and Business Activity programs will open on February 3, 2020, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and will remain open until 166 applications are received for each program.
Applicants will be considered by local preference first, which means you must live in Michigan City to receive assistance. Please go to the Programs tab for information on each program. You may also want to read the the Pre-Application Guide as well.
Effective May 1, 2018, All housing authority owned housing will be smoke free
The Michigan City Housing Authority will no longer give out waiting list numbers. Once your preliminary application has been accepted, you will receive a letter that will contain your number on the waiting list and your estimated wait time for assistance. If you do not receive a letter, it may have been sent to an incorrect address and was returned by the post office. If your letter is returned, you will be removed from the waiting list. Changes to your application can be made by completing and submitting an Applicant Change of Information Form.
