[ARCHIVED] Annual Shop With Our Cops A Huge Success

On December 4, 2017 more than 100 individuals with special needs were escorted through Walmart by officers from the Michigan City Police Department on a shopping spree for the annual Shop With Our Cops event.

Now in its fifth year, Shop With Our Cops began when Denise Denton, project manager of the NIPSCO environmental project, approached the police department hoping to contribute to the community during the holiday season. Since then, the event has grown with the support of many local businesses and contributors. The MCPD looks forward to the event every year and it is a truly humbling and inspiring experience.
