The Michigan City Department of Forestry hopes everyone is remaining safe and healthy as our national, state, and local governments continue to navigate the current health crisis. While things remain uncertain for the time being, we look forward to when we can convene with family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors again and celebrate our vibrant Michigan City community.
In the mean time, many of you may have noticed the installation of new trees in your neighborhood and we would like to invite you to visit our new website www.mctrees.org for information about your new trees and what you can do to make them feel at home.
In the coming days, the City Forester will be commencing with a mulching and watering schedule, however there are options to adopt the tree in your tree lawn. Information regarding this process is also available on the website. We will also be occasionally adding activities, resources, and further information about urban forestry in Michigan City, so be sure to check back with us regularly! In the mean time, enjoy the new trees and don’t hesitate to contact the City Forester at 219-873-1500 or jarnett@emichigancity.com
